Life In Square Photos 30/52

Lily is back in her "I'm bored and going to chew something to bits" phase and tore Macey's blankets and bed into the mess pictured above. While finding this lovely surprise is never something I enjoy, it was kind of funny when I came downstairs Lily immediately ducked and hid under a chair in the kitchen. I asked her what she did and first, I found chewed up plastic and gel from an air freshener and scattered around the table. I got down to pick it up and said "Lily! What am I going to do with you?!" to which she responded by rolling onto her back, petting my face with her paws, "smiling" and licking my face. I couldn't find the cap to the air freshener or where it could've come from so I went back to the laundry room and found her little "project". She creeped around the corner and hung her head and with another Lily what did you do?! and she took off. After I went to get Bailey to help me clean up the mess, Lily came back and responded the same way she had with the air freshener. She may be a little monster, but she sure is cute when she knows she's guilty.
We found the Lilly Jeep in the King of Prussia Mall and oh man, did I want to take it home. So beautiful.
Kyle and I went to the King of Prussia Mall on Friday and spent 5 1/2 hours and not a complaint was made, or a clear photo taken. He's such a trooper.
Kyle's family and I stayed in an apartment on the 32nd floor in Philadelphia and I don't think I could ever get tired of city scenes. There's just something about being up above the high rises and being able to see for miles.
I went to a wedding with Kyle and his family on Saturday and the venue was beautiful and it was so fun to have a reason to get dressed up. I was also obsessed with the Harry Potter reference on the ice sculpture. Always.
Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of us on my camera roll to share so you'll just have to imagine me wearing this Kate Spade dress with metallic silver J.Crew heeled sandals, and loose curls.
Kyle asked for a chocolate sprinkle donut... way to get literal Dunkin'.

InstaStyle: Summer In Lilly

I'm having a hard time believing August is this Saturday and that I won't be moving back in to my Kutztown house at the end of the month. It's still so surreal to think I'm already finished with my first four years of college. We've been so busy this summer that it really has flown by but I'm hanging on to every last bit of it and Lilly Pulitzer is certainly helping with the bright, summery patterns. This tunic hoodie is actually the first Lilly Pulitzer clothing I've bought (aside from a few things from the Lilly for Target campaign) and besides working as a cover-up it's great for cooler nights.
I think it's safe to say Lily is not a big fan of the pool considering she jumped out a second after Bailey took this picture. She'd much rather dig a hole in the mud under a bush, so I took her pool over as my personal hot tub for the day.

My pants were smiling because I unknowlingly wore them on World Emoji Day and started the day with Starbucks.
How adorable is this little pink house? The dream. It's also conveniently located across the street from a bunch of strip clubs... sigh can't I just pick it up and move it somewhere else?
Lily took her chances at getting a taste of my ice cream when I was taking a shot for #NationalIceCreamDay. I swear she always has to be the center of attention.
Photographing after an evening rain will forever be my favorite.
We skipped the Philly zoo last weekend because of the weather and ended up at King of Prussia mall. I don't think I've ever made it out of Lush without buying something. Oh, and I was judged for taking this photo-note the blurry photo and people behind me-but bathbombs *insert hearteye emoji*.

Junk Food

Happy Junkfood Day! In case you haven't already noticed, I'm a big fan of junk food. I found this shirt while I was at H&M in NYC and it was a match made in food-loving heaven. The only thing I love more than indulging myself with greasy foods and/or sweet treats is sporting some guilt-free food-inspired clothes and accessories (ie: this shirt and my french fry phone case).
Shirt: H&M // Shorts: Vintage J.Crew // Converse // Sunnies

#NationalIceCreamDay

Happy Sundae! I don't know if it's just me, but I don't remember all of these "National Food Days" being such a big thing in the past but I'm certainly not complaining. Any excuse to eat my favorite foods and post them online is good enough for me. Celebrate Ice Cream day (after you enjoy a real one on this hot summer day) with a few of my faves you can wear without getting sticky:

Floral Play

Last Saturday Bailey and I stopped by Paulus Farm to shoot this little outfit (which I have to admit has been on repeat since the day I bought it). Mom and I stumbled upon the farm a few weeks ago on one of our adventures and got some of the most delicious strawberries and ice cream. Totally clueless, I imagined there would just be fields on the other side of the market, Bailey and I walked around and there were animals galore. I was in heaven. I didn't know where to start, but you better believe I pet everything that waked up to the fence and let me.  I can't wait to go back and shoot again.
How beautiful is Snow White? She came running across the enclosure when I started petting the goats because she thought I was feeding them.
Having a seriously silly conversation with this little character.

Life in Square Photos 28/52

My computer has been a real wreck again, like I'm talking spinning wheels of death every time I try to load or save a photo on Photoshop which has made preparing content extra difficult-such a bummer. But here's a few shots from my camera roll this past week:
The massive downpour lead to this pretty shot
I'm not sure when Lily became so obsessed with sitting in my lap but it is good for laughs.
Special thanks to dad for photobombing my attempted #OOTD shot.
Bailey and I dropped by 7/11 for free slurps and I have to say, I'm quite obsessed with the Sour Patch Watermelon.
Kate x Jack x Ray make the perfect Sunday accessories.
Macey was just so proud of herself for getting ahold of Lily's pig.

Summer Reading List

I'm nowhere near the avid reader I was when I was younger, because I've let it slip off of my priority list over time (especially since I don't have the incentive of a free personal sized pizza from Pizza Hut for reading any number of books- anyone else miss Book It?!). I didn't even realize how much it bothered me that I hadn't been reading for fun anymore until I went to BookCon with Bailey at the end of May. I ended up buying more books than Bailey did (and she reads much more quickly and often than I do) with the intentions of making myself unplug and take some time to read text in actual books again.
Orange Is The New Black Piper Kerman
I picked this book up last summer (before I began watching the Netflix series-which I LOVE btw) and only read a chapter of it because I kept getting distracted by other things. I decided to pick it up again this summer and yes, I'm still reading it for the same reasons as last summer, but I'm determined to finish it... soon. Piper Kerman came to Kutztown during the fall semester at the same time as one of my dreaded classes. I emailed the professor to ask if I could be a little late to class to which he responded it wasn't an acceptable reason to be late and guess who showed up late to class? (hint: it wasn't me). Still a little bitter. #SorryNotSorry. I was so jealous because my roommates all went and had a great time getting pictures and signed books after listening to Piper speak. So far, I love the book it's just a little difficult for me to keep the characters straight because they differ from the show.

Art Before Breakfast Danny Gregory
Sometimes I forget to create things. I get all these super ideas that I either forget about or write down and never actually do. While I was at BookCon, I picked up this book because I loved the ideas Gregory proposed about making time to create every day and think that if I'm going to teach art I need to practice what I preach. I read a few pages while I was in line for Shane Dawson and I know it's going to be a quick read, I just want to make sure I follow through and take his challenges to be a more active artist.

I Hate My Selfie Shane Dawson
As I mentioned before, Bailey and I waited in line for quite a while to get a picture with Shane Dawson at BookCon and in order to get the wristband for the photo-op, you had to purchase the book. I used to watch Shane Dawson's YouTube channel frequently so I thought I might as well read his book. Bailey says it's a quick, easy read because it's a collection of short essays.

Let's Get Lost Adi Alsaid
Bailey and I had the pleasure of meeting Adi in New York and he's such a nice guy that I decided I have to read his books.

Never Sometimes Always Adi Alsaid
(Pre-Order Will be Released August 4)

Have you read any of these books? What are you reading this summer? Any Suggestions?

Field Frolicking

I have wanted to do a shoot in an overgrown field for so long and I found the perfect one across from Adams Ricci park, but then it rained...and rained...and rained. When the weather was finally nice and started to dry... they mowed the field and have kept it that way since. I was so sad about it. There aren't many public fields around us so I was so excited to find that one. Then a few days later, my mom calls me and says "I found the perfect field of wildflowers". Yes! Even better than tall grass and it was only two minutes from my house. So I bribed Bailey with chicken fried rice and popcorn and we were off for the shoot of my dreams. A few days later, the field was cut down and has been maintained since. Sad about it.
This was one of my go-to's during student teaching when I didn't feel like wearing pants and in the colder months I would just throw on a pair of patterned Muk Luks tights and a pair of boots and I was good to go.
