Summer Casual

Hey Everyone! Over the weekend I announced the launch of my personal domain on Instagram and I'm so excited to be sharing my very first post on it today!

Since it's been a few weeks, I thought this was the perfect opportunity for Macey to make another appearance.

I work in an office during the week, so I take full advantage of wearing shorts (and distressed, holey jeans) on the weekends and being super casual. I'm a huge sucker for floral prints and an even bigger sucker for tops that can be worn multiple ways. When I found this Band of Gypsies top, I was smitten. I love that it can be worn as an oversized button down or a kimono and, oh my goodness, the circle trim is just too good.

Creamsicle

TGIF! Anyone else feel like when you have a short week it seems 10 times longer?

We took off work on Monday to take our exchange student to DC for the day. I decided comfort was of the utmost importance for the day trip 1. because I knew we would be walking A LOT and 2. sharing the backseat of a compact car with two other people for three hours is not exactly enjoyable. I bought these shorts from the ASOS sale and I'm so happy I did because they are so stinkin comfortable and I love how bright they are.

My sister leaves for France tomorrow (she's going back with our exchange student) for a month. It'll definitely be a great experience for her to practice her French on top of creating new memories. My sister plays a huge role in my blogging because she is the one who takes 95% of my photos. In preparation for her trip, we pre-shot a handful of posts for the next few weeks that I'm SO excited to share!
For those of you who don't know, this is my sister Bailey who I plan on smuggling back to school with me.

Made for Play

Happy Monday everyone! I love a good play/ jumpsuit. It's probably the lazy dresser inside of me but only having one piece of clothing that doubles as a top and pants is just too perfect!

I looked for a fun floral one for quite a bit before finding this beauty. Now one of the things I like about this one, aside from the awesome back detail, is the flowy nature of the shorts. So although it looks like a (micro) mini dress, it actually has built in shorts and is perfect for playing like the child that I truly am.

P.S. If you haven't already, you simply have to check out the ASOS sale. There are so many great things included in the sale (like this playsuit for example). I've already ordered from it twice and can't wait for my second order to get here so I can start styling them to share with you! Tomorrow is the last day to get an extra 10% off the already crazy low prices with the code GAME10 so act fast!

Grunge It Up

Today I'm sharing another look we shot while we were at the beach and let me just say, it was COLD.

We went to the beach at the end of June so the last thing I expected to need was a coat, silly me, so I decided to go with a bit of a grungy look and throw on the light flannel I brought along. 90's style has been making its way back to the fashion scene in a big way and I absolutely love it. What are your thoughts on the return of the 90's? Love it or leave it?

Boho Beach

Today I am, finally, sharing an outfit we shot at the beach.

I actually bought these pants while we were there so I thought it was only fitting to photograph them on the beach. I found these pants in a store on the Boardwalk in Ocean City, MD called Dreamweaver. If the lightweight material, patterned details, and the low price of $5 weren't enough to sell them, the built-in "fanny pack" definitely would. That's right I said built-in fanny pack. The waistband actually has three pockets perfect for holding a phone, money, and other small essentials without looking like a bulky fanny pack. So yeah, I was sold. I paired the pants with a Free People bandeau in coordinating colors and my favorite maxi cardi- perfect for walking along the beach as the sun went down.

Blue Jeans, White Shirt

Hey everyone, I hope you're having a great week! This is the outfit I actually ended up wearing for the Fourth of July.

We were in the Poconos for the holiday weekend and it was a bit chilly, so in other words, perfect jean weather. For years I was a dark-wash-only girl when it came to picking jeans, seriously the darker the better. While I still love a good pair of dark wash, I've recently fallen in love with these light boyfriend jeans from Gap. I looked for the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans for months and these are the one for me. As you can tell, I've really been embracing the barely there trend lately. I think it's perfect for summer but could also work great for spring and fall with the right jacket or cardi.

Pyromanic Patriotism

I hope you all had a great holiday weekend! We had a nice relaxing weekend at the lake and bought some sparklers for the first time in years (seriously I was just a tot the last time).

I was terrified when I finally got the first sparkler to light but I had way too much fun pretending I was Harry Potter "casting spells". I took advantage of the great holiday sales online and in stores and can't wait to style and share my purchases with all of you! I'd love to hear how you spent your weekend in the comments below.
My initial reaction to the sparkler lighting was too good not to share.

Red White and Backless

Happy Independence Day! There's a kind of funny story about this post, my sister and I went out to shoot the outfit (first time we drove somewhere) and when we got there she's started snapping and then says "uh, no card". My camera doesn't save images without having an SD card, silly I know (don't worry it's only the third time I've forgotten a card eye roll). So she had to take them with my iPhone which, thankfully, I never forget.

Bonnawear Pt 4

Today I'm sharing my last look from Bonnaroo!

I have been really into off the shoulder tops but before this one I hadn't actually bought any. I went to Forever 21 a few weeks before we left and picked up this top, thinking it was just a super cropped tshirt, and said oh how cute would this be under overalls?  I got home and tried it on and it happened to be an off the shoulder bandeau like I had actually been looking at on Free People's site. Funny how I would've known that sooner had I actually tried it on in the store. Anyway it was the perfect outfit to beat the heat on the last day of roo, which happened to be the hottest. Thanks for following the last segment of my first Bonnaroo experience!
